According to research, red is most children’s favourite colour. Therefore, we painted the new educational space in Museum Kranenburgh red. With this colour, the ‘space within a space’ is demarcated and turned into a red oasis. Although Studio C only has one wall, children can easily recognise it as a creative playground.
The multifunctional crafting table and stools, designed by Lambert Kamps, are red as well. The youngest museum visitors are invited to use the craft materials present in any way they like. Additionally, we developed Studio C’s first educational assignment: we asked children to draw any letter from the name ‘Studio C’ so that they could discover the fun of typography. A selection of the most fun and creative illustrations went on to form the new Studio C logo.
