At the festival Wereld van het Witte de Withkwartier, studio de Ronners presented the SMAKBAR: a market stall where taste and perception were put to the test. SMAKBAR’s menu consisted of samplings of leftovers: from pig’s head to “kromkommer” (misshapen fruits and vegetables). In collaboration with TENT and Fond the extraordinary flavours and combinations were presented with style. The SMAKBAR brought food, beer, and contemporary art together.

Hidden Bar at Art Rotterdam

TENT presented the Hidden Bar at Art Rotterdam. The bar, conceptualised by Studio De Ronners, was “decorated” with works by Niekolaas Johannes Lekkerkerk, the young collective Blu Heron Social Club and Remty Elenga. With the Hidden Bar, TENT moved beyond the concept of a traditional exhibition. Instead, TENT created an informal, social atmosphere: a nod to the bar as an ideal meeting place for artists, writers, intellectuals, and art lovers, a place for discussing art while enjoying a drink.
