Visual identity for PLATFORM31

Platform31 is dé kennis- en netwerkorganisatie voor stedelijke en regionale ontwikkeling.

Cities, regions and towns are constantly changing. Professionals and organisations need to be keyed into new developments. Platform31 and its partners put the right topics on the agenda and find answers to today’s social, spatial, and economical questions, as well as those of tomorrow. In addition, it offers a platform for new ideas and an inspiring network of thinkers and doers. What will the Netherlands look like in the future? And what can we learn from our field of work?

Platform31 came into existence in June 2012 as a result of the merger of four prominent research and knowledge institutions: KEI, Nicis, Nirov, and SEV. Of course, such a merger is not easy to accomplish: each organisation has its own culture. But It is crucial to offer new perspectives and look beyond the horizon. A strong new identity that can grow along with the organisation is of utmost importance in this context.

An identity should be easy to use and apply. Usability is paramount. This means organisations should be able to start working easily with their new identity on their own. Studio de Ronners developed useful tools for Platform31. During this process we collaborated with experienced template builders. The tools may be used for all kinds of publications, ranging from Platform31’s own publishing house to reports and write-ups.
